I am the sponsored spouse, and me and my husband still waiting for send the CSQ. Saddly at the moment we had the opportunity to send the application, they changed the form I have to fill, so I had to re sent it by mail to him :(

And the real waiting begins (hopefully only few more months though, lol... ;)).

Good luck to all!!

Hi,

yes! CSQ application recieved on august 16 in Montreal, so for now we are waiting for the answer...

Hi, congrats all of you guys on the progress you've made now.
I'm filing the application to sponsor my common-law partner now (Quebec Outland) and i have some questions about the forms.
I will really appreciate if you can help me with these questions.

For the sponsored person
Form IMM0008 (Generic application):
1) In Question 7 : Have you received your Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ)?
If you checked “No”, they ask you to indicate the date when you applied for your CSQ.
Since we are applying from Quebec, we need to get approval by CIC first so we can apply CSQ. So we haven't applied for CSQ yet. Should I leave the date blank?

2) Form IMM5669 (schedule A: background/declaration)
In the guide, it says
This form must be completed by:
you, the principal applicant (the person I'm sponsoring).
your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not)
So as a sponsor (the common-law partner to the sponsored person), do I need to fill up this form?

In question 6
d)Have you been refused refugee status, an immigrant of permanent resident visa(including CSQ) or application to the Provincial Nominee Program or visitor or temporary resident visa,, to Canada or any other country?

So if the sponsored person has been refused visitor's visa to the States, I guess a "Yes" should be checked for this question. Right?

Thanks in advance!!!

YAHOO!!

Thank you... :)

Question 7: Yes, leave it blank. To be safe, we wrote n/a by hand (in black).

IMM5669: Just sponsored person.

Question 6? I am not sure on which form you see this Question, but I would imagine that he would answer yes, seeing as he was refused a temporary visa to USA...

Hope this helps!

Small update:

VO in Paris sent request to hubby for copy of CSQ on August 8th. We sent scanned copy by email August 9th.
We ordered GCMS notes on July 29, received by email on August 27th;
Status: IN PROGRESS (although e-cas still says Application Received);
Medical passed July 11.
Nothing else started yet; (Eligibility, Criminal, Security...)

FYI: From time Canada sponsorship was approved, it took 18 days total for physical file to reach VO.

You need to send the original copy of the CSQ (3-IMMIGRATION) thats for the immigration, the other copy (2-REPONDANT) thats your copy to keep. I called Quebec regarding that info before, they advise me if the VO will request the CSQ send the original copy which is (3-Immigration). Hope that helps :)
