I am planning to complete my landing formalities in Montreal(Quebec Provincial Selection) along with my family. I had some questions.

- Can I land from USA to Montreal via Toronto(most of the flights have a stop over at Toronto)?
- Can I just go in a train instead of flying? This also works out cheaper and it would be a good experience.
- Can I travel in a rental car from US to any Quebec town?

Would any of these affect my coming back to US using Automatic Visa Revalidation(AVR)? I am thinking of going and coming back by train is possible.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I'll help with two questions:

1) If you fly via Toronto, you will land in Toronto (you have to land in the first Canadian city you reach).
2) Yes - you can take the train.

Thanks scylla.

1)But since I got my visa through Quebec, don't I need to land in Quebec(any city in Quebec) first?
2)So where would my immigration/landing formalities be completed? In the first stop after crossing the border or in Montreal where I will get down?

Thanks again.

Any suggestions. Thanks.

First point of entry. If you show them a proof (Connecting flight ticket or bus ticket to Quebec) of your final destination, you should be fine.

May i know your itinerary

you first point of entry must be Quebec. you cannot land anywhere else. not even a connecting flight will do because all immigration proceedings has to be in Quebec.

i hope this helps
