Thanks a Million fromdubai & nawabsaab for such generous words.

I'll soon be giving more updates ... just waiting for few things to get finalized and then I'll publish some more things.

Regarding moving to another city, the Permanent Residency you get is Unconditional. However, you have given a signed undertaking to Quebec immigration that you will be living/staying/residing in Quebec province. You have to refer to that document again.

Moreover, there are many news and articles published about making it a law as it put more pressure on other provinces and use it as backdoor to enter other provinces. This is termed as 'Misrepresentation' and can lead to loss of PR, removal from country and citizenship application being unsuccessful. However, no one is stopping you to live in two provinces.

What if I wanted to settle in Quebec and changed my mind?

Whether you apply to live in Canada or in Quebec, the result is the same: you obtain, if successful, the permanence residence in Canada. Sure, the two processes are a little bit different, but your permanent resident card is the same.

Having the permanence residence in Canada gives you the right to live and work anywhere you like. Therefore, even if you apply for permanent residence in Quebec, no one can force you to stay there.

However, when applying for permanent residence in Quebec, you do declare that you wish to live in Quebec.

Congrats Bro! I'm so happy for you!

It's going to take a month or two before you get your passports back.

It's currently summer time here... so, by the time you come here... hopefully it's gonna stay summer.

Yes - someone who is 54 will have to take the citizenship test. As of this Thursday, only those who are 65 years of age or older are exempt from the test.

This link is only relevant for applications received by CIC as of the end of the business day tomorrow. After that - new rules.

The new rules officially come into place this Thursday. As explained in my previous post, the new rules raise the citizenship text exemption age to 65.

See the Citizenship section of this forum for the many discussions on the new citizenship rules.
