That sounds strange. I sent my application on October 31st, 2014, and it was received in a few days. I got my AOR in March 2015 and when I tracked my application online it says that my application was received on November 5, 2014 by CIC, which makes sense.
Not sure why is there such a big delay between when you sent in your application and what it says online when it was received by CIC, November to February.

I got my medical request about 20 days after my AOR, so just wait a few more days and then you will probably get the medical request.

Thank you! Hopefully it gets sorted out asap. Wasted a lot of time waiting, my work permit expires June next year T.T

Hello guys,

Thank God, I finally received my PPR!! I'm so excited! :D :D I received the email at 7.14 pm yesterday night!

Thanks for everyone for showing their support and for sharing this journey :)

Congrats!!! That must be such a relief :)

So it took about a month from DM to Passport request? I am asking because I just got my DM in my Ecas and now I am wondering how much longer I will have to be patient :P :P

Have a great day!

This varies. Some people get their PPR within a couple of days, for other people it takes up to two months. Let's hope they are speeding things up and you'll receive it quickly. Speaking of which, Germany is a visa-exempt country, hence there will be no PPR for us. We will merely receive a CoPR by mail. Once you get it, you are all set and can do your landing at the border. ;)

wow thanks marlee :) I didn't know that about Germany :) That will make things so much easier. So it's just waiting for CoPR now :) keeping the fingers all crossed (und die Daumen gedrueckt) that it won"t be too much longer even though I know how fast it's been moving in my case.

Thanks a lot Rebetha82. It is indeed a big relief :) Yes, it took me 5 weeks from DM to PPR. but as Marlee said, this is very random. You could receive your COPR in a couple of days! :)

Great!! My passport is now in Ottawa, so I will do the landing as soon as I get it back!! Keep us updated! All the best! :) :)

Hi guys,

so I did the landing yesterday and it went smoothly. I went to the US border via Stanstead and told the border agent that I am here for Canadian immigration. I had to park the car on the side and enter. After a couple of minutes of processing my request, I got the paper mentioning that my entry to the US was refused. This is needed if you don't actually want to enter, but go back to Canada for immigration. The CoPR states that one has to actually leave Canada and come back for the landing.
On the Canadian site, things were even easier since the border agents are Canadian and super nice. I stated my purpose of being there and the border agent just asked me to write down my address, took my CSW, passport, and CoPR and left to do some paperwork. After about 10 mins he came back, asked me the one question indicated on the CoPR (if I have committed any crimes in Canada), which I answered with No and signing my initials. He then signed my CoPR and let me sign it as well. He left again for another 5 mins, then came back with my CoPR, took the work permit out of my passport, stapled my CoPR into my passport, stamped it, handed it over to me and smiled. Another border agent, who was obviously bored or something and who was just lurking around then asked me if I am aware of my obligations as a PR to which I replied with a question what exactly he meant. He explained that I have to spent 2 out of 5 years in Canada to fulfill the requirements of PR to which I answered that my boyfriend, who was waiting for me, would be happy to hear that I HAVE to stay ;) everyone was laughing, we shook hands and I left :)

Easy peasy.

FYI, I did bring more additional documents which I didn't need in the end. I brought my work contract, an excerpt of my bank account, and proof of payment of CSQ and PR. But as mentioned above, I didn't need any of them.

So that was it and I still feel like it's kinda unreal. It all went so quick! I mean, from AOR to landing took only 5 months! And the whole thing only 9 months!

I hope everything will go as smoothly for you guys! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :) :) :)
