Do not forget also that it all seems to be at the discretion of the immigration officer, even if you have enough points it is upto the immigration officer to give interview waiver or not.

It seems that even if you have enough points, they could still ask you to come to an interview, so even having a rock solid file may require an interview.

It will be interesting to see what happens with our application, we have a solid application, sent all the paperwork and proof at the start along with TEFAQ C1 and C2 points, and have somewhere around the 65-70 points mark and both live in France. It will be interesting to see what happens to us. I will keep you guys posted to see what happens with us, I am hoping for the waiver too as can't be bothered to plan a trip to Paris for an interview.

Little tip by the way:

It is always a good idea, if it is possible to get any copies, certified and conform by the Canadien consulat/embassy nearest to you, I was told by the lady at the Consulat here that it helps with the authenticity of the documents if the originals are seen by an agent of the Candian government and they are certified by them. it costs a small fortune 15€ per copy but I think in the long run it's worth it.
I am sure, wherever they can, they will require french. But if someone has 55/63 without french, they have no legal reason for an interview, at least not because of french knowledge (and many nurses/computer engineers now have 55/63, because of the increased points in AOT and revoked points in french).

About your case, what AOT code did you use in your application? I see 2242 as NOC, but can not find it in AOT list. I think they do not look at points, only at AOT code for priority, but once your preliminary examination is finally done, I am sure you will get instant waiver.

Principal applicant has a PHD in Physical Science, but we applied using the masters because he had not gained the phd at the time of applying (so masters physical science is 6 points) but is covered by mutual recognition agreement as it is French diploma, and French and Québec diplomas are mutually recognised. Ignore the NOC code it's not correct for the principal applicant.

BTW I asked about the Doctorat and Priority and I did not get a straight answer, she just said that is was in our interest to send the update with the diploma. We had already applied with a masters in the same subject so already had 12 points for Education (max points for level of education), I do not see what the extra is that a phd could add to this as this is also 12 points. It must add something or she would not have told us to send the update...

I think above 55/63, it depends more on the authenticity, detail and number of supporting documents / language exam attestations attached, than on the number of points.

I believe many should be in a similar situation like mine..If the primary applicant is a Computer Engineering graduate, however, the experience is in software engineering, and the graduation was complete before 7 years, will the experience be considered as in the related field and given 8 points, or there will not be any point for experience.. ??

Halloo,

when I applied to CSQ on May 2011,it wasn't required to submit the French and English results for any test.
I have submitted a letter from my University that all our studies is done in French language and in addition to that I did my master in Lyon -France.
also I have submitted a result of an English test called BULATS done online in our organization where I'm working and it was delivered to us by Cambridge University.

I have the below points when I applied:
1- Age 31 (when I applied): 16 points
2- Children below 12 (two): 8 points
3- Professional Experience(more than 48 months: 8 Points
4- Last diploma (Master 1 Business management and administration of Enterprises):10 Points
5- Field Of Education: (Business Administration) 6 points same with the new rules
6- Adaptability & Financial Autonomy: 4 points

Spouse
1- Age : 3 points
2- Last diploma (master 2): 3 Points
3- Field of Education: 2 points

So in total it's 60 points without taking in consideration the French and the English points

if they consider my level in French and English as Moderate they should add the below points:

1- French - Speaking : 6 Points
2- French - Listening: 6 Points
3- English – Listening: 3 Points
4- English – Speaking : 3 Points

Total Language proficiency : 18 Points

Also regarding my Spouse she did master 2 professional and master 2 research in France so she normally should get 6 points for the French Speaking and listening.

So the total 84 points

In May 2013 I have submitted an amendment to my file by adding my Brother in Law as permanent resident in Quebec it will add to me 3 points(not yet updated to my file)

So the new total will be 87 points.

Let us consider that I got 65 points in total so should be a waiver from the interview still it's not the case.
Don't be so optimist with this immigration process and all hope that at the end they will call us for an interview and not refund us the process fees and return back us to the start bottom.

Any one from 2011 CSQ applicant has received an interview call?

Thank you for replying on my post if I have a misunderstanding on the above.

Hi Jimmy80, based on the processing times as in the BIQ site, people from Lebenon should have been invited for interview or the processing complete if the application is before Jan 2011, but, actually, I am surprised that you have very high score and not being processed quickly.. Possible that you have been shortlisted in interview list soon, and no waiver for your case....Keep us posted in the development, also you can email and ask for the status

signalmaker thank you for the info, Assuming I received my AOR and without 8 points I would not have crossed the threshold of 57 for applicants with spouse, can I safely assume that I was awarded the 8 points ?

Hi every body.
I need your help to calculate my points for immigration to Quebec
I sent my file on 10 December 2011. and according to the new law of 1st of august 2013, i would like to review again my chances.
i have passed the Dalf C1 with total score 50 of 100, i was really very lucky to pass it.
my points are:
speaking: 16
listening : 12
reading : 11
writing : 11
so, according to the new rules, how many points i could obtain.
