Hi all, I am currently on a closed work permit. Though the work permit document does not mention any NOC code, the letter to IRCC sent by my lawyer for closed work permit mentions the NOC code to me 00012 and the same was confirmed by the lawyer. I am planning to use the same NOC code for my EE applicaiton, which makes me eligible for 200 points. My work is in the space of Artificial Intelligence, so I think I can qualify for a STEM NOC code too. Now my questions is how can I qualify simultaneous for Major Group NOC code and also be considered under STEM category? The reason I am asking this question is one because of all the uncertainties around EE and category based draws.

The short answer is that it's really not possible based on your Canadian work experience. Your work permit would need to be tied to a STEM NOC that is on the IRCC list. Your NOC is not on that list so I don't see that the STEM draws are possible for you based on your work in Canada.

Thanks for your response. I was asking just in case my experience is not accepted under NOC 00012.
