You’re not thinking of mandamus ? I’m not sure how it works exactly if someone can explain but I know it costs money and it gets your PR

Pretty sure they are experiencing normal processing times for Quebec so no point in filing writ of Mandamus. Also not sure you can file writ of mandamus for CSQ. You can no longer see all the previous posts so maybe @Taweda can post all their processing details to clarify.

You’re pretty sure ? You have statistics or data backing your opinion or is it out of your ass ? The processing time is 45 months some get it in 43 and some do in 47-48, that’s what makes an average.

Every single one I know is getting their or wether 47-46 or even 48 so the number on IRCC website aren’t BS

Now 50 months or more is in no way the norm so yeah there is a point in filing writ of mandamus.

We have to get our PRs this year cuz it’s gonna be impossible from 2026 up if the new quota rules take place

To have a chance of writ of mandamus your processing time has to be significantly longer (years not months) than not only posted processing time but actual processing times which are often not the same. Processing times in general are getting longer every month so the average processing time is getting longer. The issues also appears to be at the CSQ level so very likely a quota and backlog issue in Quebec.

December 2021 submitted the H&C application
May 2024 received AIP
August 2024 CSQ application sent to MIFI
Nothing has been received yet

So the issue is really with Quebec and not sure if writ of mandamus is an option. Do you have an idea about the backlog for H&C applications in Quebec? I assume Quebec is slowing approval rates to meet a certain quota because once they approve it is out of their control when you get PR. You may want to consult with a lawyer to see if anything can be done or try to get access to backlog info through freedom of information request from Quebec.

Thank you. I don’t have a lawyer
What you mean by freedom of information request from Quebec? Is it something similar to the one that we get from IRCC

You can pay to access most information from the government. I suspect the real issue with your case is Quebec backlogs and small quotas for PRs which are affecting all H&C applications these days.

You may want to consult with a lawyer to see if anything can get do done as well or at what point could you take action if possible.
