Waiting long long regarded group five

Good evening family
I started my process in November 2021, and I completed my medical interview and vaccination from September 2024 to October 2024 with a pass result( as immigration officer confirm congratulations) also pre arrival came Same time . However, my medical certificate expired over two years ago (about 1 year and 10 months), and I have not yet received my re-medical papers or any updates on my case.
When I ask embassy they said my wife security finished after one month interview date but my security remaining since 2024.

Is this long waiting period normal? Has anyone experienced similar delays? I would appreciate any advice or guidance on what to do next

Yes it is normal. You don't say where you are applying from. Security and background checks can take years. The Canadian government must receive that information from your country of citizenship and any countries you have lived in. Pre-arrival can come years before approval.
