To board seniors:

Is it advisable to apply for Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec (comparative evaluation for studies done outside Québec) after getting an AOR?

Thanks! :)

I'm sure you'll get different subjective answers on your question :)

I'd say it's completely up to you. But if you really want to practice your profession as soon as possible when you land in Quebec then yes, it would be wise to get the comparative evaluation after AOR as it may take several months for the entire process. So when you get the result you'll know how long you need to study and what sort of exams you need to take (once you're already in Quebec) before you can work in your field.

Hi All,

I got a quick question, does anyone know a case when an applicant is called for an interview in a year after receiving AOR (I mean for the people from BIQ-Hongkong which has shifted to BIQ-Montreal).
I read somewhere that they receive around 35000 applications a year and process around 30000. those 30000 are backlogs of previous years??? i hope its not. lol.

I think we all have turned little or more pessimist by their way of processing, i hope that reply to this post may bring some optimism in all of us.

I read in another forum that people in Pakistan are receiving interview notices.
Well, anyway, I filed my application last November 2012 and received my AOR on April 2013. On May, they sent me mail regarding my representative. Until now, no interview sched whatsoever.

i have put file for QSW in July 2013. even i haven't appear for French exam not even level A1 n A2. Today i was surveyed on net that all the pending files prior to August 1,2013 requires French level B2. i have got my file number in november. now i am seeking for some help.

I completed my B.Sc. With Chemistry before 3 years. And appeared IELTS already. As my immigration agent i'm scoring 49 points without French.

Here is my assessment

Age : 16
Area of Training : 12
Education : 10
Expierence : 6
Language : 4
Finance : 1

Now i want to know how much chances of my interview and my visa?

Here is my reply my dear.

Firstly I must congratulate you for getting a file number.

Secondly, I am a bit worried with your point computation as Chemistry under new rules fetches 6 points and not 12. So your actual points are surely 49-6 which is 43. Yes surely your file was opened with 43 points.

Thirdly, I strongly see a very high need for French knowledge for you. Why because according to the new rules, your file is provisionally opened with 43 points, and when your file reaches a level of waiting for a decision, you shall be given 18 months to submit at least a B2 in French for you to get an interview call.

Fourthly I advise you to study more English and sit again for IELTS GENERAL TRAINING since it is very easy and try to have a high score so that you can pick up the 2 points you lost-yes because you said you had 4 not 6 for Ielts which is where ANGLOPHONES get the advantage of getting all the 6 points.

Fifthly? Yes 5thly, It is my own opinion only. I wish you luck.

Stylove.

As a "MUST" rule, whenever you wanna apply for QSW you follow the most recent info you find on their website and use the most recent forms in their most recent formats. If you ever checked at the 2013 list of AOTs(area of trainings) you would see nursing listed as U118. If you are a newbie, I think you missed something: this forum is out to guide and not to mislead. So when you ask a question, it is obvious that you need a correct answer and when someone answers you, I think he is doing that to the best of their knowledge. You might wanna check on the timelines/profiles of the several nurses on this forum who applied recently and you gonna see U118, starting with mine here on the left under my name.

Stylove
Wrong. U118 is only for nurses who obtained a B.Sc. at university/college. In Europe, for example, nursing is considered to be an apprenticeship. Meaning the hospital itself employs you as a nursing apprentice and you are sent to their own nursing school while spending half of the three years doing practical units on ward. Anyone who did not obtain a bachelor of science (registered nurses in Europe do not have that), has to register with code C029 - "Nursing (DCS)".

I have read posts from some users claiming that it will not matter because the IO will just change it during the interview if they found it not applicable to you. And btw, they got they are in Quebec now. :)

Rightly said by Stylove, as qualifying points for single applicant is 49 and you have been pause to 43, that is the reason they have asked for B2, as this is the only area i guess now left which will increase your point and match the qualifying points criteria.
Hope this helps!
