Good morning.

I would like to apply for my CEC. but I have one not sure.

I have gotten my work permit based LMO written NOC 6242(cook) but there is another version's code, 6322(cook) on the CIC.

I am confused of which code is adustable for me.

Even though I have had 6242 code, should I put the new code 6322 or does it ok if I wirte code 6242 which I have had LMO code?

you can still use both 6242 or 6322, or use 6242/6322

Doesn't matter. Your duties in your ref letter have to match the duties
mentioned for the NOC you apply under. That's all there is to it.
I don't even have a NOC code on my WP.

Yes, 6242 is the old code (NOC 2006), use 6322 (NOC 2011).

I would advise that the ref letter and the noc code from your most recent LMO that is valid for CEC application be used.

There is nothing "invalid" about the LMO or the NOC code used on it. However, CIC is now using NOC 2011. Applications received after May 4, 2013, will be assessed using the NOC 2011.

This is incorrect. If you are on a closed work permit you must use the noc code associated with it. The permit doesn't show the code but it shows the code title. You can search for this on the hrsdc website to find the code If you don't know it.

Applying with a different code when on a closed work permit usually results in refusal.

The OP who started this thread is in a different boat. The codes he mentioned Are for the same job it's just his code was updated in 2011.

when i was filling my application i ask by phone to CIC, they told me I could use the old or the new or both, if you use the old they will "translate" it to the new, HSRDC still accepting the old for LMOs, and still going to use for a little more time to process applications, so you are good using the old, or the new as they are aware of the changes even when in the manual they said "exclusively" they are going to see at your duties.
I used both 6242/6322

If the application was received on or after May 4, 2013, then the officer will assess the CEC or FSWC applicant’s work experience exclusively against the minor unit group occupation description(s) in the 2011 edition of the NOC.

Note: As noted above, FSWC applications received on or after May 4, 2013, are to be assessed against the 2011 edition of the NOC. However, CIC will continue to accept as supporting documentation positive/neutral Labour Market Opinions (LMOs) assessed and issued by HRSDC against the 2006 edition of the NOC, and work permits based on these LMOs, provided the NOC 2006 occupation code can be correlated to an eligible NOC 2011 Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B occupation code at the time the application is received by CIC. Regardless of the NOC code identified on the LMO, the applicant will need to demonstrate that they performed the actions in the lead statement, and performed a substantial number of the main duties, including all the essential duties, of the occupation as set out in the occupational description for an eligible NOC 2011 minor unit group.

Thank you for your advice.
