Q for PMM or anyone who can answer

Dear All,
I have 2 questions

1. Should an applicant go in person to Buffalo to get his/visa stamped if that is convenient or is it better to send it by mail

2. What is the time given on a PR visa to enter canada from buffalo. i.e. do they give a month or two or 6 months to year before one has to enter canada.

I would appreciate if anyone could throw light on these questions, specially PMM.

Can the primary applicant go & collect visas for the entire family or does everyone have to go in person i.e spouse & children also? Thankyou.
