Sorry if this topic has been discussed before, but I really can't find my answer in previous topics.

I am a new graduate with a three-year PGWP. Now I am working as a system support representative on a full-time, 1-year-fixed-term basis. I work 38.25 hours per week, and my contract allows me to take 15 paid vacation days. I am also eligible to take 13 public holidays annually.

My question is: I will have to take 1 week paid vacation off for some personal reason. When the immigration officer counts my work hours, will they really do the math, like 38.25*52- 38.25 (1 week's hours) - 2*38.25 (two weeks' public holidays) = 1874. 25. 1874 hours are much less than the min work hours (ie.1950 hours per year) the CIC requires.

Any opinion or input would be greatly appreciated.

Paid holidays are considered work.

Thanks a lot for your reply, PMM.

How about the paid vacation days? Will those days be counted in the work hours as well?

The word holidays in Canada, is used interchangeably with both Vacation and Holiday and yes they both count as work as they are paid.
