Sharing My PRTD Journey (for those looking for timelines)
I wanted to share my PRTD experience since I couldn’t find many recent timelines online — hopefully, this helps someone in a similar situation.
I applied through VFS Chennai, India, and the passport was stamped at the IRCC Office, Delhi.
Although I applied under urgent basis, I’m not entirely sure if it was actually processed as urgent. My reason for urgency was listed as “Other – Sister’s Engagement.”
Returning to Canada : 24th October
I had to apply for a PRTD because my PR card application was skipped, not rejected.
For context, my eCoPR was issued on 26th June.
I’ve tried to include all the usual FAQs, but feel free to ask if you have any questions — happy to help anyone going through the same process!

- PPR: 2nd September
- Passport Submitted: 5th September
- Application Approved: 29th September
- Ready for Collection: 1st October
- Passport Collected: 6th October
