Hi Everyone - Can anyone share there PRTD filing experience in December 2021 or January 2022. What is the Processing time if you applied through the email id provided by IRCC - IRCC.COVIDPRTD-TVRPCOVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca from India? Also, how long did it take to receive your passport after stamping?

I have applied in Dec 2021 and haven't heard anything back yet. people saying it's taking 6-8 weeks. hopefully I will get in that time frame. Will update you if I get any reply or passport request.
Thanks for responding. When exactly did you apply in December? Did you try reaching out to IRCC over phone or web-form? My return tickets to Canada is for early February.
I applied 10th December. What is your situation? Did you loose your PR card or you just received your PR but did not receive your PR card and had to travel outside Canada?

My PR card got expired and had to travel India so need to apply for PRTD. Yes I did mark my application as urgent as I have my Oath schedule for 7th Feb. I did sent follow up email to them asking any update as I have my Oath date coming close but they replied back with saying that due to Covid it's going to take longer than usual processing time. But I did heard from other people that right now people who applied on Dec 7th to 10th they are getting Passport request, so you should be getting something soon.
Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I originally applied on 10th December and later realized that I made an error in the application. So then I sent an updated application on the same email thread on 10th January. I hope they will process my application in the 10th December category.

I am in a similar situation like yours..first applied on 29th December and after realising an error re sent it on 17th January marking it urgent and requesting if they would consider my first application..I have emailed Delhi high commision in their general qery email ID but no response..I have my return flight in the 2nd week of Feb and still no response

Thanks for the response..When did you submit your first application? would you mind sharing the error that you had in the first one..for me I forgot to put my name in the subject line of first email..that’s why I resent on 17th Jan..Another question is does anybody know where does the email application go? Since it looks like a generic email ID for PRTD application on the IRCC website.. not sure if it’s reaching Delhi high commission or does it go to IRCC Canada office..thanks again..I will keep you posted if I hear anything
This forum has helped me so I am passing it to others by helping. I will share my experience while applying for my wife's PRTD. She received her PR status while being in Canada but did not get PR card and had to travel to India. Her case was simple and was not complicated or on Humanitarian basis. Her return ticket is booked on 16 February.
I applied originally via email on 12 December and didnt hear back until 30 December other than automatic acknowledgement email on 12 December. Then I noticed that 1 of my attachment was unable to be opened so I sent all attachment again on 30 December.
Didn't hear back until 26 Jan.
12 Dec- original date of application
30 Dec- noticed mistake in application and re applied after correcting. (did not get any separate acknowledgement by IRCC for the corrected document)
26 Jan - passport request letter from IRCC.
28 Jan- used VFS webform to complete the form for passport submission and AWB generated same day
29 Jan - passport picked up by bluedart.
31 Jan- passport reached Delhi Canada Visa application center
1 Feb- received by IRCC for process.
7 Feb- passport dispatched from IRCC delhi to Visa application center Delhi, also same day Blue dart picked up and is in transit to Ahmedabad.
8 Feb- received call from Bluedart delivery guy that passport is couriered at 8 am but we were not home, requested Bluedart to deliver next day
9 Feb- passport received at home at 10 am. Single entry PRTD approved - valid for 1 year duration from date of approval.
PEARLS AND TIPS:
Sit back tight and do not send frequent emails or calls if your process is under normal processing time.
Make sure to check all your documents in SENT email is able to be reviewed/opened in adobe while you send your package to IRCC.
VFS sends you email at all steps from the time you send your passport to receiving your passport (however we did not get AWB for return courier service but passport arrived pretty quickly in 1 day from Delhi to Ahmedabad)
Total duration if calculated from 30 Dec to 8 Feb is less than 6 weeks. If you do not hear back from IRCC in 4 weeks after applying then it would be worth while to check with them, otherwise keep calm and continue to enjoy your life. !! Hope this experience helps other folks.
