Hello,

Im an Indian national on a protection visa in Australia for a year now. I want to apply for a student visa in Canada. What option do I choose to have higher chances of getting a student visa

1. withdraw my asylum application go back to india apply for a student visa from india
2. Apply from Australia after declare your status in Australia
3. Withdraw asylum application and apply for Canadian student visa
please advise.

1. There will still be a record of your asylum application so applying for a student permit will be difficult unless you get permanent status in Australia.
2. Would only apply if you have permanent status in Australia since you need to show you will return to your home country after your studies and have strong ties to your home country.

Your best option is to try to remain in Australia until you have permanent status or until you can apply for PR.
