Hi! So I came here in 2015 on closed work permit and my employer didnt have any work for me. My agent started to re-apply for a new wrk permit for me in 2015 but due to financial reason the restaurant was sold. Also my bf was here n I got pregnant in 2016. I delivered in 2016. I have applied for tourist visa n wrk permit again. Since there's no news of the wrk permit I have applied for extension of the tourist visa. The father isn't in the picture anymore. Since I am not having any news of wrk permit can I apply for protection for me and my baby because I cant go back due to family reasons.

My second question is do we get assistance to complete application since it is confusing.

No. You don't qualify as a refugee.

Because family issues aren't grounds for a refugee claim. Grounds for refguee claims are things like: you will be thrown in jail and likely tortured if you return to your home country because you are a political activist and your country's government does not allow people to voice opposing political views.

Ok! Wat if my life n that's of my baby r in danger if I return?

Anyway my second question was is there any assistance we get for the application?

How are your lives in danger? If you are talking about your family back home - CIC will say that you can settle in a different part of your home country. Again, you have no grounds for a refugee claim based on the information you have provided so far.

You could look into filing an H&C application. Chances of approval are low for H&C applications and processing times are long (around 2 years).

Ok thanks! Is there any assistance given for the application?

From CIC? No.

You would have to hire a lawyer or consultant to help you.

for both, first “family reason” is not the ground reason for applying refugee status. Not solid.
Second there is no assistance from the government during the process, maybe some private sponsor or some organization would but I am not sure about it.

You need a lawyer .
