I'm doing a single application. I have a joint fixed deposit with my parents (19000CAD). I put my parents on it because if I were to die, the government would take charge of the account, so in my country its always good to have a secondary on the account for that reason. I've always put a relative on my bank accounts (brother/mother/father).
Will I be able to use this account as my POF? Or do I need to open a new account and transfer the funds (or remove my parents from my account?). What is the required time for the full amount of settlement funds to be in an account? In other words, if I transfer the funds to a new account today and get a balance certificate next week and submit my application the day after.....is that acceptable by CIC?
