Proof of residence for citizenship application

hi All,
I am living at an airbnb whose owner decided to bypass airbnb and let me stay monthly. Benefit of that is, I can leave anytime I want. No lease nothing and also get free room service and cleaning and regularly maintained home.

But an acquaintance of mine told me that even though I am in physically in Canada, it will be difficult for me to prove to CIC that I lived in Canada since there is no lease.

My question is, doesn't CBSA track our entry and exit? Do we still have to provide proof?

They track entries. They do not always track exits.

You must always provide proof if asked.

They do track the exits for non citizens, entries are easy to track and they sure do. If you travel frequently by road I am sure they have access to exits as well.
But they always have missing entries, I am assuming you at some point going to apply for citizenship or renew PR card, I would strongly strongly suggest have lease, payments details, bank transactions, utilities and all sorts of evidence to prove your stay in Canada, assume by default you will get RFQ during that process. Not trying to alarm you, but dont rely on CBSA will do the job for you, if ever you get RFQ, its your responsibility to prove your physical presence.

Again I am saying not each and every commuter gets RFQ rather its very rare, but get going on collecting the documents from day one as if you are going to get the RFQ.
