HI There,

My husband is a Canadian Spouse and I got an ITA recently.

On my checklist, I'm required to Provide proof of relationship with my host/or family member. ( I only listed my spouse with my family member who resides in Canada)
Could anyone let me know what's required to upload in this section?

a marriage certificate?? (I was requested to upload the marriage certificate on another tab)
My birth certificate ?

as for family member proof of status
I will provide a copy of my husband's member’s Canadian passport and Citizen card, is that all?

Thank you so much for your help!!

Hi there.

I was in the same situation.

I uploaded:
- Husband's passport including ALL stamps on the pages in the passport
- Letter of invitation from him
- Marriage License
- history of our relationship, including statements from family and friends, pictures and wedding pictures.

Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

My application has recently been approved (CEC outland), so I guess I did the right thing :)

Good luck!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt "family member" refer to spouse/common law partner or dependent children by CIC ?

So shouldn't you be provide YOUR documents for your husband's family member proof of status rather than his family member's documents ?

Thanks for clarifying as I have a PR common-law partner myself and under his section I provided my work permit so I just want to be sure.

so does that mean you should provide your documents under your husband's section for "proof of family member's status" instead ? I am a bit confused here.

I did both.

So submit copies of:
- passport (including all pages stamped)
- both sides birth certificate

with 'proof of status' and with 'proof of relationship'

I don't see how it would be a problem to submit something twice.

Another tip: I used the questionnaire that is used to apply for a family sponsorship and answered those questions to 'prove our relationship' .

Good luck!
