I have a quick question. When is the correct time to do medical checkup after receiving ITA? I have received an ITA on Oct. 23. I am in the process of submitting documents for Permanent Residence. Today I made a call to the medical clinic for checkup but the staff told me to come after submitting documents. Further he told me to come with some kind of IMM or U* number.

Pls. help!!

They are unaware of EE. Inform them that you need an upfront medicals for EE and that you don't have UCI number for now. Try and do your medicals within a week before final submission.

May i ask why do you suggest to do the medicals just a week before submission?

What if i don't opt for upfornt medicals and choose to do after getting the request, will it affect my application or will i be violating any rule.
Just curious...asking for self.

Thanks Asivad.

Its mandatory to get Medicals done before submitting the PR application in case of Express Entry applications (that is why its known as 'Upfront Medicals'). Moreover, I do not think you would be able to submit the application (technically system will not allow) without uploading the Medicals document. Seniors can confirm this.

Regarding your discussion with the Medical clinic, it seems they are not aware of the new process of Upfront Medicals for EE applications. There is no IMM* number required now. You can probably call on some other clinic on the Panel to cross-verify the information.

The clinic typically takes 1-2 weeks to share results with CIC. If you get your medicals done within a week prior to submission, your medicals tends to move to Passed fairly quickly.

Thanks for your response. One more question, does EE candidate has an option to do medical check after submitting documents?

Help!

No. You cannot submit a complete application without undergoing upfront medicals.

Yes. Rather, Upfront Medicals are mandatory to be able to submit the PR application. There is no second choice.
