Well.....I am curious to know is there anyone was refused to enter in Canada or had difficulties to enter in Canada because of their POF. I have been searching this long time but didn't find anyone yet.

I do not want to hear the story that someone has heard from someone else or their friends that someone was refused to enter due to bank statements of 3rd world countries. If you are the person, who had difficulties at the port of entry regarding your POF, please share your experience. Thanks!

Well, there are lots of cases when applicants landed in Canada turns out that the photos for PR card they submitted before they got visa is not within the specification and people have to resubmit their photos again. So, do you have any explanation for that?

i need your urgent attention on the following: i have been allotted the visa under skilled worker category and i will be traveling from Mumbai-to London to Calgary and then to Edmonton and the halting time in between Calgary and Edmonton is 4 and half hours so as soon as i land at Calgary airport do i need to proceed for my landing as a PR or do i need to do my landing formalities at Edmonton because that's the destination i need to proceed. my question is , is it necessary to to the landing as soon as u land at any airport in Canada or we can continue with our connecting flights and then finally do the landing at the final destination of our travel on the Canadian soil. please treat it as urgent issue as i will be traveling in the beginning of Feb 2013.

how much time does the entire process of landing as immigrant for the first time takes place, if so can i do the same while i have a connecting flights as mentioned above and an halting time of 4 and a half hours in between Calgary and Edmonton.

Yes, you will need to do your landing formalities in Calgary.
the entire process takes about 1 hour , depending on how many family members need to be processed.
You will have enough time to catch your flight to Edmonton.

Good luck.

We landed on december 8th in Toronto and I was not asked about proof of funds.
They asked about the list for the goods to follow.

Hi,
Why don't you book a flight directly to Edmonton? I landed in Edmonton and the whole process for the landing took less than 15 minutes (three forms were processed) additionally I did not face any questions, just a suggestion as I do not know why you chose to land in Calgary first. Give me a PM as soon as you land here and we will be in touch. All the best.

Regards
Jai

thanks a lot Alex and ganesh, there were no direct flights available as per my flight schedule that's why had that flight schedule, sure will be in touch once i land over there, thanks again regards.

hi friends !

In medical requests,CHC demanded fresh POF alongwith other general docs. The problem is-because of so much of delay in MR issuance,i depoisted all my funds into a fixed deposit with joint name of my father.

is it okay or i need to show all funds in my own name only?

if today,i deposit money into my saving accounts,is it okay for chc ?

thanx !

Somesh, i recommend to show the bank statement under your own name, also send them a letter explaining that due to the delay in process i have deposited somewhere else. i hope this helps

Thanx jamshaid. I will do the same . The only doubt is whether they will accept the current deposits into my saving account or not .

Hi Jai,

I also plan to move to Edmonton in the coming months and I heard that there is a direct flight from London to Edmonton, I guess Air Canada.

I was checking on the landing process & procedure where it was suggested to carry some filled application forms like for PR Card, B4 Form [Goods Declaration] etc.

As I was going through PRC Application [IMM5444E], I got my doubts if the information on Immigration History, Personal History (Address and Work) & Travel History etc. also required even if one is applying PRC for the 1st time??

Can these applications can be filled afresh at the Airport or it's better to come along with filled forms for whole family?
We're a family of 4 (2 Children) and if there is anything specific or more for a hassle free landing process, pls include that as well in your reply.

rgds.... :)

I strongly believe you don't need PRC application at the time of landing. CIC has yours info.
