Hi to everyone! Regarding the new FSWC 2013 program, does CIC still require proof of funds if you do not have an LMO/employer? Or can you still apply for a FSWC visa even if you do not have an employer/LMO?

FSWC 2013 opening in May this year will still require proof of funding if you apply without a job offer. This is a very important part of the process, since CIC want to be sure the applicant will not be a drain on social services when they arrive in Canada with no job, so they want to be sure the applicant has the funds to establish themselves.

If you are intending to apply and do not yet have the funds, I suggest you start saving now.

Thank you for the response! :) I have another question though, do they require additional documents like payslip/sss just to prove that you got 1 yr of paid work experience?

For work experience they usually require a reference from the employer, including duties performed, and a business card (or at least up to date contact details) of the person giving the reference. This should be from your supervisor, manager or HR manager.

Pay slips can provide additional support, but the reference including the duties is most important so the visa officer can convince themselves that the job (or jobs) in question can be categorised in skill types 0, A or B. Work experience in categories C, D and E does not count, hence why they need the reference and the duties.

Im asking theses questions because in my recent employer where I got my 1 year experience as a Derma Nurse, we do not have any payslips even benefits like sss/philhealth. They pay us weekly, in cash. I really dont have any idea if I can be eligible to apply to the FSWC program.

In order to apply you are going to have to produce a work reference including the duties you performed. Pay slips are not required anyway unless visa office later ask for them, but the work reference certainly is.

CIC are not going to take your word for it that you have this experience, there is way too much fraud in the system already for them to relax any part of their eligibility and supporting documentation criteria.

Why don't you contact this recent employer and ask them to provide a reference?

I got a certificate of employment and our headnurse is always available to justify my work. Wil that be enough?

If the employment certificate does not list the duties, then no, it will not be enough.

Although the visa office can validate employment during background document checks, they want to see a list of duties in writing up front before you can pass the eligibility review to even get to the background document stage.

If the head nurse is available to justify your work, can you ask him/her to write a reference for you, listing the duties you performed?
