Proof of funds needed for LMIA job offer?

Hello,

I have recently received a job offer for a class “A” job in Canada. The employer has applied for LMIA, and I have recently completed my IELTS exam so I am planning on applying for express entry. I will be applying through the Federal Skilled worker Program, as I have 17 months experience.

I currently do not have the funds needed, however with a valid LMIA job offer- will proof of funds be needed?

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family if

• you’re applying under the Canadian Experience Class or
• you’re authorized to work in Canada and you have a valid job offer, even if you apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program

Keep your funds up to date in your profile. The system may find that you’re eligible for more than 1 program. You don’t always know ahead of time which program you’ll be invited under.

Thanks for the quick response! I won’t be applying through the Canadian Experience class as I have no Canadian experience- I will be applying through the Federal Skilled worker Program.

I have a valid job offer, though I am not authorised to work in Canada. Will I need to apply for a work permit and then apply through express entry?
