Hello All,

I will completing my Landing with my wife and daughter in 2nd week of March.. as per the requirement I should be taking about 17,000-18,000 CAD$ as proof of fund.

Now my query is if I am taking about 21,000 CAD$ ... should I declare that I have CAD$ 10,000 and above (in Customs or Disembarkment Form).. as technically for 3 People it will be CAD$ 7,000 per person.

Also, do I need to fill forms for all three of us or for myself only as I am the Principal Applicant.

Please advice.

Thankyou.

Declare the Whole amount, it is over the minimum requirement, not going to hurt. Only the principal applicant has to bring in the required minimum amount.

Which form you are talking about the customs declaration form,As you are landing as a family unit and will be processed as 1 unit. so only 1 form for whole family.

but do declare the whole amount, you are bringing, they are not going to charge anything, but if u don't declare that u are carrying more than $10,000, the penalties are severe.

and also declare the personal effects you are bringing (jewelry etc) as you will be landing for first time, no customs would be levied on your personal effects and you have 1 year to import the household stuff without paying customs, if you declare it in goods to follow list and provide it to customs on arrivals. Check the CBSA website
