Proof of Funds - Demand Draft

I am planning to bring the proof of fund as a Demand Draft from UAE.
Two questions:

1. Without a bank account in Canada is there a way to deposit or use this money ?
How long does it take to start a bank account ?
2. What are the other way to show proof of fund and use that money ASAP ?

1. You would need to open a bank account. It takes 30 days for a demand draft from outside Canada to clear. So you will also have to bring other funds, i.e. Traveler's Cheques for immediate use.
