Hi all,

I'm an international student who is graduating from a Bachelor's degree soon (I finish in August). Recently, I was accepted into my Master's program. I decided to applying for a study permit extension, along with a post graduation work permit (PGWP). What I'm having a problem with in my application is the proof of financial support.

I calculated my expenses as follows, for two years: 40,000 CAD (tuition) + 9,200 CAD (accommodation) + 5,000 CAD (other). This sums up to around 54,000 CAD for two years. I have proof of support from my fathers's bank account for around 26,000 CAD. Additionally, I have around 5,000 CAD in my own bank account. Also, as a Master's student I am eligible to work on campus. Although I have no current proof, my supervisor informed me that I will be getting job offers that pay well as soon as the academic year starts.

I have put 30k CAD as my current funds available for support, even though for two years I will need 54k CAD. Should this be a problem or hinder my application to extend my visa and get a PGWP? In other words, do funds available for stay have to be larger than funds needed during stay? Also, do I need to write a letter and get it signed by my father to show him as a sponsor?
