I agree, that is way too long to have someones passport, what if they have family in another country other than Canada or their own and they need to travel there for an emergency. They would be stuck because CIC is hoarding passports.

There should be a law against it.. No one should be in possession of a persons passport for longer than a day. So they should not ask for it until they are ready to stamp it.

for anyone going through paris.

one of our close friends is from paris and he was just sponsored by his canadian common-law spouse.

and his step 2 was approved in under 2 months
very very fast, they got step 1 approved middle-late june, and he got his copr today!!.

so paris is incredibly fast, and this was common-law not marriage. so it goes to show it doesnt really matter how you apply its definatly about the evidence

yes...I have heard that as well LeisaP.....my husband has friends who were sponsored through Paris and it was incredibly fast......

I have heard nothing since my file was sent there on June 20th.........I sent an email last week just asking for confirmation that they have the file....received an automated email back confirming receipt but nothing...nada...

no that is the problem...I don't know they have it....the email I received is just a generic confirmation that my email was received.....I don't even know if a human has read my email or if in fact my file is there...that is what is so frustrating.....I get the waiting...I do...paperwork is horrendous....but I would like to know it has been received!

ooo sorry my bad! yeah i get those from mexico city too right after i send them an email.
hopefully you will hear something next week.
usually the emails take 2 weeks to respond. it would be nice just to know!! i know how you feel, we went 4 months without hearing anything ! its frustratingg

no problem....I think I am heading down your path...LOL...4 months of nothing....I was hoping my husband would be here for Thanksgiving for his first turkey dinner but maybe Christmas.....I hope....... just gotta think positive......

yeah we are hoping to be home for christmas aswell.
we can only hope christmas will bring joyssss to everyone!
plus in mexico people dont eat turkey dinner.. and i dunno if i can handle thanksgiving or christmas without a turkey dinner! i might have to import a big one from usa hahah

same as Cuba....no turkey dinner....my husband will be in 7th heaven when he sees all that food and the size of a 20pd turkey......just thinking about it brings a smile to my face.......

Haha Yah no kidding!, hes going to have a feast!.
now im gravy turkey dinner hurry up summer and be over so we can get on with thanksgiving lol
