I would suggest, rather then all of us sending email separately, we should all email to one person or newspaper. or find someway out that all can voice their concern together.

Without going off topic let us send some emails and see if we can have some kind of media attention and if that helps

Agreed! Apply external pressure and they might 'work to rule', (even more so if they are already). Just leave them be.

Let me just state this. Some newspapers are crown owned. Meaning, if they get any information regarding the government in a negative light, they will ignore it. So make sure you research it if you do decide to do this.

I know this because I'm part of the whole robocall scandal recall demanding group of citizens.

If people start going to the media about immigration delays, I can't see it having any benefit. There is a massive backlog of applications, and the only way to get through them would be for CIC to hire many more Visa Officers to process these apps, which isn't going to happen in light of all the recent civil servant job cuts. You would be better focusing your energy on things you can control.

I am in total agreement. Immigration is a privilege and not a right.......and if the wait time is long so be it. If you raise to many issues with the wait time family sponsorhip could end up with a hold on applications like parents/grandparents or worse case scenerio dump all the applications like the Federal Skilled Workers and start from scratch again. Be thankful we have not been touched.

And even though we may not like the process, I wouldn't want their job. I imagine its a difficult and thankless job. I know I wouldn't want the burden of deciding which relationships were legitimate or fraudulent. I can just imagine some of the things that cross these VO's desks! I agree...don't rock the boat. We don't want the Harper Gov't cancelling ALL immigration until the system can be restructured!

I don't think the Canadian public has sympathy for this at all.. they will say "oh look, the immigrants have just arrived and as usual are already demanding more things to be handed to them." Because you have to face it, the majority of family class sponsorships are from people who have just immigrated or PR's. Family class is the definition of 'daisy chain' immigration. Therefore, it's backlogged and slow. We just have to wait our turns.

There are a lot of people who are against immigration all together..we don't want to stir the pot too much!
