Your local member of parliament. Just do a Google search on who is the MP of your area and mail him/her.

Steph, a question for you. Have you started working already? Or are you waiting to receive your official documents before you start working *assuming you haven't received them yet*.

I would apply online as it probably simpler to fill out the forms but also the processing is a lot quicker, how did you get your first open work permit?

I received my documents in the post 2 days after receiving the confirmation email, got my sin number the following day and this has been my first week of work in nearly 7 months :)

I thought that the live in program required an lmo so you work for a specific employer. I may be wrong as I don't know a lot about eligibility for that program. If you do need an lmo you need to find an employer willing to sponsor you.

If it is just an open work permit extension that you are applying for I would check out cic.gc.ca and go to the apply online link. As long as you apply before the expiration of your work permit then you can remain working while they process your file.

If you don't apply before your status runs out then you will not be allowed to work while they process your file, which can take months

Can anybody please help me with the processing time of restoration of status with working permit? I submitted my application online on 23rd October 2012, up till this moment my application haven't been processed. Is it the same processing time as applying for a working permit or does it take longer when I apply for a restoration of status?

Please I need your replies cuz am so frustrated now, been out of work for months now. Thanks

Hi, saaz, i found my local mp, but i have no idea what should i say, is it possible to tell her exactly what happened on my restoration and work permit, is she ok to help me check my status, is it too serious to do this, there is no any record of this, right? sorry to ask this, a little worried, thanks

If everything is legal at your end then you should not be worried. Just explain your MP your situation and how much time has already passed. It depends on the MP but they are usually very supportive and helpful.
