You would come in as a visitor to do this. You won't be a permanent resident. Note that you won't qualify for health care coverage so make sure you take out insurance for emergencies and be prepared to pay for non emergency care out of pocket.

Yes. I know many Canadian who own a place in the US, and many Americans who own here. You need to watch out for foreign buyer taxation for certain provinces.

Yes, you can buy property. However you'll be subject to an additional 20 percent tax.
