Here's the situation, girlfriend resides in the States and has worked in the pharmacy technician field for 5 years coming up 6 years this December. I am trying to find the fastest way possible of her being able to reside in Canada with me. I do plan to marry her but have been told that even if we do marry there is no guarantee that she would be allowed to reside with me in Canada during the whole PR process once I send off the Spousal Sponsorship form. I have been told that the States is a visa exempt country so if that's the case how would she be able to apply for a worker's visa. To me it seems it's such a hassle this whole new process but I do understand the whole problem with fraudulent marriages.

In the end it seems it would be best to marry one another and send off the PR and Spousal sponsorship forms. If I were to take this course of action is it possible that she would be allowed to reside with me during the process. All I know for one thing is she would have to take an oral and written test to be able to work legally in Canada as there are differences in the pharmacy technician trade between Canada and USA. Sorry for the rambling and questions, this whole process is new and is a lot to take in all at once and any help and guidance is definitely appreciated.

You haven't provided enough information for us to answer your question.

What is your status in Canada? Are you a Canadian citizen or permanent resident? Are you here as a foreign worker or international student?

When you say that your girlfriend "resides" in the States - is she a US citizen or green card holder? Or is she a temporary worker? If she is a temporary worker in the US, what passport does she hold?

More / clearer information is needed.

I'm a canadian citizen, was born in Canada. As for her she is an american citizen as she was born in Texas.
