Hi. I am graduating and going to apply for PGWP now. I took a 16-months master's program and did that in all full-time terms. However, I also took the undergrad program at the same school in the previous 4 years with 1 semester part-time (not the summer). I double-checked the IRCC's website they said
  • They have completed an academic, vocational, or professional training program at an eligible institution in Canada that is at least 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • They have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program or programs of study they have completed and submitted as part of their post-graduation work permit application.
The word "programs" is something that worries me. It said programs rather than "program". Ideally, I can just apply with my master's program's degree. However, I took my undergrad in the same school which means the record of my undergrad will be on the same transcript as my master's program. So when I apply, I have to turn in my transcript with my part-time semester in my undergrad. They are in different programs though.

I come here for advice and what I should do? Will I have trouble? Or should I just do a flagpole? Will doing a flagpole be safer?

Nobody knows anything about this condition?
Weren't they 2 different programs? So there is nothing to worry, since you are applying for PGWP, based on your masters degree. The word programs is for when a person wants to have a 3 years work permit based on 2 programs with the length of 1 year, in total they have 2 years of programs. It does not impact your application as you were fulltime in your masters program.

However if you want, you can check with client center to be sure, as they know more than us.

Hi, I was trying to call them. However seems they don't have phone calls for people who don't have applications anymore... do you know anything to contract with them?

Also, do you think I should write the explanation letter to tell them the first part of my transcript is the record of my first undergrad program so they will know that the part-time semester is not the program which I am using to apply?

I think writing a LOE is a good idea. And explain clearly that you are applying based on your masters. And provide your enrollement letter and completion letter only for your masters. Explain clearly so there would be no confusion.

And you can call them. Just enter your UCI, which you already have it from your previous applications.

Hi, Not yet. I am waiting currently and yes I have provided a letter stating status for each of my semesters.

did you have to write a cover letter in your own words, and then put the enrolment letter in the second page of the PDF? or did you just put the enrolment letter without writing anything

It depends on your situation, if you are trying to clarify anything , it's better to explain. For example, my university gives us unofficial transcript with stamp on it and We can explain that. Or if you are out of status and you paid for the restoration, it is better to explain. Otherwise, there is no need to explain. You just upload the letter in your client info.

did you have any part-time semesters? or?

Thanks! So I can just call them and talk with them even I don't have an application? Also, do you think I should do a flag-pole to get the PGWP since the border is re-open?

Yes you can. They are really helpful. Actually since I did not do flagpole, do not have much info about it. But I heard it's very easy and fast.
