guys I just had a call from IOM. they told me that my visa has been issued and soon they will contact me for the flight. they just asked me a few questions about my health conditions.
I wanted to share this news with you and tell you that hang in there friends, soon it will be done.

I am an Iranian who has been a refugee in Turkey since I was 12 years old, for about 12 years. Through the SAH program, I have applied to Canada along with my mother and younger brother. We submitted our application in February 2025, and about one week later, we received our G-number.


It has now been approximately 4 months since then, and my question is:
Will our interview likely take place before this coming winter?

Really tough to predict but in general processing for private sponsorship is quite long so would be planning for multiple years and be happy if processed faster.

actualy i saw refugees with 9 month till recieving medical test and i asked and searched so many sites and Lawyers
12 to 18 month they said your case gonna long

Medical is only one component and doesn’t mean that you will be moving to Canada soon after the medical is completed. A second medical can also be requested in some cases. Canada is trying the reduce the volume of refugees they accept and the timelines for processing for privately sponsored refugees have always been quite variable so it is very hard to predict. As previously said plan for multiple years and hope processing goes faster.

Hey guys, its good sharing stories here and brings some relief for those who are tired of waiting. My application was received on April 2022, and started processing on April 2024. Then between October and December, 2024, we finished security checks, interview and medical. I tried to dig and learned that my application is awaiting for final decision. Almost 38 months since application has been received.
Any ideas?????

Congrates! Your case is moving very fast. I applied in November 2023 and received my G number after 15 months. It's now been 5 months since then, and I'm still waiting for sponsorship approval.

Which country are you applying to? Did you contact IRCC, or have any special circumstances that made your process move so quickly?

Hi there thanks. I applied from Indonesia- at the beginning my application was moving fast but after biometrics it got slow and there is nothing new after submitting biometrics, almost 6 months since then. Regarding my sponsorship there is nothing special the only things is that our sponsorship is SAH and they it tends to get approved quickly because the paper worked are mostly done unlike G5. G5 TAKES A WHILE FOR APPROVAL MAYBE THAT IS WHY ? but don't worry because the processing times usually end being around the same, so when you get approval you will done everything quickly that is what i heard
