I asked CIC if they have any previous applications from me in the last decade or so. I asked this because my parents could have applied for me when I was a child. CIC identified my correct LAST NAME but different FIRST NAME.

Could it be that someone with similar last name as mine and same date of birth exists in the CIC system? If I apply for a new TRV, should I mention this existing application from this other person who may or may not be me? My parents have died so I have no way of confirming this.

I don't remember making a TRV application to Canada ever. Should I simply ignore what's in their system?

Did your parents apply to visit or to immigrate to Canada, and included you as their minor dependent child?

You must have the same first name + the same date and place of birth + the same nationality + the same set of parents.... to be identified as the same person in IRCC's records.

IMO, it is not a good idea to assume that you are this other person in IRCC's records. There could be a number of applicants with the same family name
