prevailing wages for live-in caregivers today?

hello,

I just want to ask what is the prevailing wages for live-in caregivers today? I read from CIC website about the minimum wages for every province. CUrrently, i received 9.30, but i read that now, it is 9.80. Is this already implemented? I just renewed my contract, and i want to ask whether i should be receiving the new minimum wage instead of the previous one? It has already been posted for quite some time and i don't know if i have been receiving the right wage. my employers are so busy that may have not been paying attention to this matter. Any input?

Well you don't state which province, so it makes it pretty hard for us to guess. See: http://canadaonline.about.com/library/bl/blminwage.htm Note that in New Bruinswick Prince Edward Island, Manitoba and Live in Domestics are not covered by the minimum wage law.
