Hi,

What does "photos must be loose" mean? How will I present the pictures in my application? Could anyone help me?

Thank you very much.

get the prints of photos.. and simply put them in one envelope..
Or you may paste 2 printed photos on each page.. and provide a brief description below each photo.

do not staple them, or try to bind them together.

Or if they are stored digitally, you can nest them using MSWord or Publisher. I nested two photos per page with a description typed below each picture. It just seemed more organized to do it this way, but if you want prints, that's fine, too. Some people just write on the back of each photo and put them in a baggie.

As long as they are easily accessible and organized, you shouldn't have any troubles.

FS, where did you get the 2 per page thing? I just made word documents with 4-6 pics on a page and explanations below them.

I couldn't fit more than 2 per page. I guess just because I wanted the photos to be large. :)

I made them all different sizes.. the VIP ones were large and insignificant ones tiny. We're obviously a mixed race couple so we stand out in the photos anyways, no matter how small 8) But most importantly I put it in a linear fashion.

I did it that way on purpose so that the picture size was large enough to show detail. Also, some of the pictures were such that if I tried to make them smaller it would be difficult to see anything...My employer was kind of enough (they had no idea) to allow me to use their colour printer for about 140 of the 160 pictures I printed. They were also very nice to allow me to use their paper. I figure it evens things out for some of the stuff they've done over the years (breaching the contract on a number of occasions). I suppose that's why I won't feel bad if/when I give them my notice.

I would have preferred 4-6 per page, but it didn't work out for me.

160 photos? We only included 25 taken over different times... Is that too few? How many is best?

Everything is relative Ehra C. I would say 25-50 photos is plenty as long as they are spread out from your time together. Also phone bills spread across your relationship are good. Personally I am sending in approx 40-50 photos (8 from my wedding) and 3 phone bills for each year we have been together which is 7 years. To be honest I am not the best at keeping old phone bills and managed just about to get 20 old bills together to send. Likewise I am not a huge photographer and our time together has been limited so I figured 40-50 photos across the whole 7 year relationship was good for my situation but it is entirely dependant on how comfortable you feel and what you think represents your circumstances best.

Good luck :D

I know what you mean about old bills and such. A lot of our correspondence early on was on his cell phone but he changed providers a couple of years ago. So without the old bills and not being a current customer eliminates a lot of potential call logs. Also in our pictures most of them are him filming me or me filming him. So I just took a selection of those with both of us in them. Maybe I should see if there are any others we can include before he mails it off.

We've been together since 2005 and have done a lot of traveling, plus my parents came to visit after we got married, so there were quite a few from that trip. We also included a lot of our son with us and family. 160 was conservative, as we had thousands to choose from...we just selected what we thought were the best ones. Without any other proof, I have a feeling our pictures alone would be enough. Obviously we included a lot of other information like our rental contract, apartment ID cards, health insurance cards, joint bank account, and so on.

Since submitting our application, we've been documenting everything in case we are requested to attend an interview, though we highly doubt that will happen. I'm being dragged out to some family gathering tonight, which I really don't want to attend (so tired!!), but I'm going, mainly for the pictures.

I think 25 is not enough, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I have done like KJG, I organized our photos into separate envelopes, each envelope is for a specific time/trip/even and then wrote on the back of each photo, names, dates and place of the photo.

I don't know if it is ideal, but at least they are organized, and a single envelope holds the supporting photos to a particular event, so no having to sort through photos, just grab the appropriate envelope.

all depends on your individual case.....some people 25 or 50 and others 100 or in my case 300!!!!
