Hi you all!
I have been living in Toronto past 4 month,first 2 month i was waiting my work permit (im pregrant 4.5 month).I just wound out that it is impossible to get ontario health card by time of birth,so we decided to move alberta because of healt card!My questsion is if i already live in ontario 2 month(to activate my work permit i had leave the country,i have been here 2 month) to i get my alberta health card first day when i applyh or later?And do i have to tell health care that im pragrant and have been seen doctors in ontario.Havent apply any healt in ontario,have been paying by cash!Have been working in part time one month!Hope you understand what im trying to say,

Even if you were a PR, having lived in Toronto for 4 months, I believe that AB health would see your move as a move from Ontario and not from outside Canada. Therefore, they would probably have you do the 3 month waiting period before you'd get health care. However, if you have been on a work permit in ON for 2 months, you should have one month left to get the health card (3 months wait after getting your status) so I don't see how you'd get it sooner in AB.

Also, because you are not a PR but on a work permit, if your work permit specifies an employer in ON, I still do not know if you would have the right to health care if you choose to move to AB. I know OHIP would definitely not cover you if you moved there with a work permit from AB.

I just check that my work permit starts 14 may so i have been here just a month.I was here as a visitor (holiday).The service ontario want contract from my employ,that i work full time and atleast 6 month,but employ dosnt want to give it,because i have probation period and he will give it after 2 month,so its too late then!I dont want to take change that i have to pay it myself,its too much!
What do you think do they give me healt card first day in alberta or atleast one month after i apply.I already got my SIN in ontario.
Do i have to say them that im pregrant and have been seen doctor here if i apply healt card.

You could ask AB health, tell them you have been on an open work permit in ON for a month and ask if you get first day health care if you move to AB. Their number is 780-427-1432 , see http://www.health.alberta.ca/contact.html

If they make you serve the waiting period, in AB it is not a full 3 months but 2 months plus the balance of the third so if you move before the end of this month so that you can say you moved to AB in June, you would wait July and August and have health care by Sept. 1st. at the latest.
