Hey everybody. I already asked the same question in another topic but might as well ask here too. I am doing my immigration right now, inside Canada, my student status expired and I am on implied status. I am pregnant and have no coverage at all. I am not eligible for Alberta Health Care. I live in Fort McMurray and don't think there are community health centres. What do I do. Is there a insurance company that will cover my case?

My husband is a Canadian. May be there is a way to be covered under him at his work.

I am so confused. But believe in all good in this situation...

Go to any country where you think the cost of delivery would be lowest or get a midwife to deliver in Fort McMurray.

You are on implied status as what? Have you applied to extend your student visa or change to visitor? AB health may cover spouses of Canadians even on visitor status in some cases if they are being sponsored by their spouse. Phone AB health with your husband at your side and discuss your options.

No insurance will insure you now for the cost of delivery because they know a 100% they will have to pay for it. If they sell you insurance for less money than the average cost of delivery, they will know they will lose money.
