I recently received a pre-arrival letter from IRCC regarding my permanent residency application. I do not currently have valid status in Canada and have applied for permanent residency from inside Canada. I was wondering if this pre-arrival letter is the same as approval in principle, or if there is a difference between the two?
Additionally, I am wondering if it is possible to submit an application for an open work permit while waiting for my permanent residency to be finalized. I understand that I will need an AIP before I can apply for an open work permit. Has anyone had experience with this process, and if so, what was it like?
