Hi Fellas, Just wanna ask this thing.
I'll become a TFW from 2008 to 2015 and got my PR last year 2015.
My question is:
-Am I qualify to apply my Citizenship now or i need to spent more years being PR before i can apply?..

Any input are highly appriciated! TIA :) :)

(You mention that you obtained PR "last year 2015". Not sure if you mean last year - which would be in 2016. Or if you mean 2015.)

Short answer is that you don't qualify to apply now.

As of now, time before PR doesn't count towards your citizenship residence requirement. So the earliest you'll qualify under the current rules is sometime in 2019 (assuming you landed sometime in 2015).

Once the new rules are passed, you can count up to one year before you became a PR towards the RO for citizenship and would qualify to apply sometime in 2017 (assuming you landed sometime in 2015). Unfortunately we don't know when the new rules will be passed by the Senate and then when the new rules will become law.

So as of now you don't qualify. All you can do is wait and hope the new rules are passed quickly.

oh thanks for the reply, still have hang over with 2016 turning to 2017..

yeah got my PR 2016 last year..thanks anyway.. :) :)

Ok - in that case the earliest you'll qualify under the old rules is 2020 and under the new rules (not yet passed) 2018.
