I am a PR, and husband is PA in home country, and this is an outland application. My husband's application was submitted in September 2023, and I received AOR and sponsor approval in November 2023, and biometrics were done in December 2023. We're waiting for medical exam which is likely in March, I believe.
I have to go to home country due to a family emergency and I was wondering how long can I stay there? I have searched and it says 2 months are max, but would like an updated timeline or confirmed answer if possible. Thanks.

There's no black and white rule.

We've seen people refused who stayed out of Canada for 3+ weeks and others who have remained outside of Canada for a number of months and had no problem.
