I agree with @gayrefugee. Put narration you are protected person you can not renew your passport, and forward them expired one.

my friend received a letter today in his cic account that his eligibility is passed and medical are updated too however they never ask for any medical so is it normal? do they extend old medical time or what? or it is just a glitch and he will receive medical letter as well he applied pr in Feb 2021

This is not a malfunction, this is a medical exemption! There is no need for a medical examination, because the medical examination was already done when applying for asylum before!

Yes, after we take our fingerprints, we can directly find out whether we have committed a crime or not, so there is no need! Is your friend really fast, can you share his timeline?

he applied in Feb 2021
got letter for some docs in October
and now in Jan receive a letter stating eligibility pass and in his cic portal showing medical is done finger prints not needed etc
