My wife in Japan received her passport request letter for Permanent Residency yesterday. Everything has gone smoothly so far. I'm just wondering, how long does it take for the the Manila (Philippines) office to stamp her visa on her passport and return it to her? Many thanks!

Manila Visa Office is quite busy compared to other offices around the world. Actually, as per CIC it will take 6 months processing for Sponsorship under Family Class. I send my passport last March 2009 but until now I don't any feedback yet.

I'd like to ask if your wife is in Japan, y she need to send the papers to Manila y not in Japan?

It's because the Manila visa office is responsible for permanent resident applications in Japan.
