I am happy to say that we have received a positive decision on our PR and have received the papers I need to land.

But... I am told it takes 4-6 weeks between landing and receiving your PR card. In 3 weeks I am travelling to Europe, than I am back in Canada for 3 weeks, then I am going to Australia for 2 weeks.

I have an existing BOWP that is valid till Sept 2014 and the PR landing papers do not expire until Dec 2014. Can I continue to travel under my BOWP, then present my PR landing papers when I come back from Australia?

Thanks!

Yes, any visa that you have is valid as issued until you land. At that point, they should be cancelled without prejudice.

Thanks, this is what I suspected :)

Can you confirm it wont affect or disqualify my PR to pass through the border without 'landing' even though I have my landing papers?

You can land when *you* choose as far as I know. Do you have an IM - 1 visa in your passport?

It's the single use "landing" visa that is supplied to nationals that are not visa-exempt to Canada. If you are visa-exempt as a visitor, you don't get issued with one.

Ah, cool. British so no need for a landing visa.

Thanks for all your help zardoz
