Hi,

If some one could please suggest according to the following timeline:

A single applicant/PR holder landed in Canada as a Permanent Resident and stayed there for about 180 days (October 2018 to March 2019).

Returned to home country in March 2019.

Could not plan to return in 2020 due to Covid-19, but now planning to return soon.

The PR card is valid till October 2023.

Seeking suggestions and viewpoints regarding returning to Canada in 2021 so that the PR status is maintained.

Any other obligations to be fulfilled except related to Covid-19 before travelling back?
Any documents to be presented while departing or landing at the airports except for the mandatory one like the PR card, Passport etc.

Any help would would be highly appreciated.

Regards

Assuming your dates are correct, no, you should be fine with PR card and passport, etc. (Apart from the covid related requirements before and on arrival which you definitely must keep up to date on)

If you return in 2021, you wont see ahy issues at the border. Just get your PR card and Passport. If clearing through self check out machines at the airport, scan your PR card first and you are all set.

Just a reminder that the 5 years starts on your landing date. The expiry of your PR card is not relevant to your RO.
