I am a PR visa holder yet to land in Canada. I have applied for several jobs online but have never recieved any positive responses. What's the best way to land a job before actually setting foot in Canada? The main advantage of having a job beforehand is that I can straightaway move to the province where I have the job offer on hand.

It is highly unlikely that your postings for job will get you a job straight away. Most of the times you need to post in local listings and also networking with friends are equally important. Another issue is most of the prospective employers would like to see the candidate available locally.
Last but not the least I am sure you might have read the thread on why I immigrate to Canada on this forum to get the feel of what one has to be ready with before and after landing.
Wish you best of luck for getting the offer before landing..

foreverwaiting,

Since you are a PR visa holder (that is tourist visa, yes?), then do not worry. Go to Canada and find a job from within Canada. Your chances of finding a job when you're in Canada is better than just relying on online job postings.

He is a PERMANENT RESIDENT OF CANADA,He has almost all the same rights as a Canadian Citizen,He only cant work for sensitive jobs like CSIS,Military etc

avkon is right, you have a big chance of getting a job once you landed on canada compare applying online waiting and waiting. time is precious, you can start your career now and have a good job in a few months time...

goodluck! and may god bless you....

Try to move in BC or Ontario, search online what jobs are available there that is ok for you to do. You're lucky that you already a PR, use your advantage.
