Hi Guys.

I was wondering what the deal with was when leaving canada and returning?

Do i still need to go to non canadian line at the airport?

My girlfriend who is Canadian and myself are frequent travellers, she always gets through the border 20-25 minutes quicker than i do which causes issues with connecting flights.

Can i now join the Canadian line at the airport and show my passport and PR card? or do i still have to wait with all the visitors.
.
thanks all!

If you are talking about arriving at the canadian airport and if the canadian aiport has automatic kiosks which are meant for canadian citizens and pr card holders, you can go there and scan your PR card. If the airport does not have automatic kiosk then you have to wait in the lineup.

For departure, the waiting is same for everyone unless someone is travelling to USA and has nexus card then its expedited travel.

If they are travelling together then would they not be able to arrive at the CBSA Canadian desk together and get processed as a couple. Maybe depends how picky the CBSA officer might want to be but would expect there is that flexibility for families for example split between citizens and PRs.

Me, my wife, my child always go together as a family and use the automatic kiosk at the airport one by one.
The automatic kiosks are meant for PRs and canadian citizens.
