PR Husband living abroad with me - can this count towards residency?

Hello,
My husband and I are currently living in Canada. He just recently got his PR. I potentially have a job abroad, and my husband would move with me. If he lives abroad with me, do these years still count towards his residency obligation to obtain his citizenship? Is there a limit for how long he can be out of Canada for, even if he is living with me?

This time counts towards residency for maintaining PR status. As long as he is living with you, he can remain outside of Canada as long as he wants to and still keep his PR status.

This time does not count towards residency for citizenship.
