I have received my PR in Canada through spouse sponsership last December. However, a few years ago, I was applying for immigration in US based on my profession, and the visa is going to be approved soon after I pass my interview. For my decision, I will move to US for work, my question is do I still have to report tax every year even I am not living here? Also, can I still keep my PR if I am not living in Canada?

I don't believe you'd have to pay Canadian taxes when you leave.

The second question - you have to stay in Canada for 2 out of 5 years to keep your PR.

You only pay your Canadian taxes if you are a resident of Canada. If you are not a resident, you are not obligated to file taxes in Canada. To keep your PR status, your Canadian spouse must live with you in US. If your spouse is PR only, you can only stay in US for 3 years max out of 5 rolling years.

You don't have to pay Canadian tax if you don't own a house/condo in Canada and have to declare on a form to CRA that you are a non-resident.

Thanks for all your reply. That's really helpful!
