PR exipred , can i enter Canada with tourism visa to renew my status

My PR expired a year ago while im outside canada, please advise if enter canada with tourism visa, will i be able to request for a new PR or they will cancel it totaly because of tourism visa??

You can't apply for a tourism visa without first officially giving up your PR status first.

Right, you don't get a tourist visa if you are PR.

You have two options. Apply for a PR travel document in order to return. Another option, if you have or can get a US visa, fly to the US and enter Canada at the land border with your expired PR card.

It is also an important question whether you meet the RO (residency obligation) and if you don't, then whether you have mitigating circumstances for why you don't.
